LIBRARY FAQ

What is available in our library?
Libraries are the heart of a learning community. Our library holds about 15,500 materials – including books, videos, and magazines. We are fully automated with Destiny software and an Online Public Access Catalog. Also available are four Macs, an iPad cart, and various coding technology tools.

When will my children get Library time?
Every class comes once a week for a lesson & book exchange. BUT we love to see your kids ANY DAY! If they forget their books, they are welcome to come any other day (or every day, for that matter!).

How many books can they take out?
Kindergarten through Second Grade takes one book at a time. Third through Fifth can take up to two, one good fit & one for fun!

What happens if my child has an overdue?
Students are not allowed to borrow until they take care of their overdue. 3rd – 5th are okay if they have one book returned with the other less than a month overdue.

What if the book is lost or damaged?
Students are responsible for their borrowed books. We discuss this at the beginning of the year. If a book is lost or is damaged beyond repair, there is a responsibility expected to replace it. Any concerns with this should be responded to as soon as possible.

END OF YEAR DATES

May 11th: Last day to borrow books

May 18th: Last day to return ALL books

Please encourage your children to find their library books and return them by the dates above. Thank you for your help with this matter as well as your continued support of the Elementary Library!
