Our Greenhouse project continues to grow. In 2010-11, we began to experiment with the concept of a "cold greenhouse" - growing cold hardy vegetables throughout the Fall and Winter without the benefit of an external heat source. Our students learned how factors such as sunlight, water, and row covers affected temperatures, and ultimately growth during otherwise dormant growing periods. We experienced excellent results with crops such as spinach, radishes, and greens, enabling us to market and sell freshly harvested produce to our faculty and staff. We look forward to continued learning about this system, and ever greater yields of fresh vegetables to share with the Honeoye Central community
