My interest in serving as a member of the Honeoye Central School Board of Education
is rooted in my passion for public education. I am a lifetime resident of Honeoye, a
graduate of Honeoye Central School, and served the District as a teacher and
instructional coach for 19 years. I have chosen to raise my family in our cozy community
and my two children, Mollie (14) and Jackson (10) are currently enrolled at Honeoye. I
am deeply committed to educating the children in our community.
After graduating from Honeoye, I attended Oswego State University and earned a BS in
Elementary and Middle School Education, with a concentration in English. I continued
my education at the University of New England where I earned an MS in Education.
Currently, I am completing my Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership from the
Warner School at the University of Rochester.
I am currently employed by Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES as a staff development
trainer, where I provide professional learning and coaching to teachers around the
region. Through this work I have gained an extensive knowledge of educational systems
and structures, as well as an in-depth understanding of the most current issues and
challenges schools are facing in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. This regional
perspective, as well as my knowledge of Honeoye Central School will allow me to be a
strong advocate for teachers, families, and students.
Education is changing in ways that we never expected; it is more important than ever to
place students at the forefront of our collective efforts. Every student at Honeoye
Central School deserves a high quality education that will prepare them for a successful
future. Meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of students while responsibly
managing our human and fiscal resources can be a daunting task, especially during a
global pandemic. As a member of the Board, I hope to help develop policy which
supports what is best for children and to shore the creation of fiscally prudent budgets
that prioritize the needs of children. My unique set of skills, education, and experience
would make me an asset to the Board of Education.
