Because when our kids thrive, so does our community.
When my husband Greg and I moved to Honeoye 14 years ago, we purposely sought out a small rural community, near family and where we could safely raise our daughter Summer. We were drawn to the area's beauty, outdoor activities, and unique school district. We wanted our daughter to have a sense of belonging to something greater than just our immediate family.
Our daughter has thrived while living here and is currently a sophomore at HCS. Over the years I have been fortunate to be able to volunteer with many of her activities, gradually stepping in and taking on more active roles to ensure that these programs continue. Parent involvement in our community and school has dropped over the past few years and I would love to see this improve.
I have worked in the technology field for over 35 years where I have made a successful career out of interfacing and balancing the needs between clients and service delivery teams. I believe my strong communication, leadership, analytical, process and financial skills will allow me to be an asset to the Board of Education.
Our school will continue to face tough policy and fiscal challenges in the coming months, and I am excited to be a part of the process that will drive this change. My focus will be to ensure that our children receive quality education, in a safe healthy environment, that prepares them for life after school.
