CORAL » Horticulture

Through our Horticulture component, students learn about all aspects of a working greenhouse planting food crops including soil preparation, seed preparation/sowing, watering, heat/water retention using row covers, cold frames growing, harvesting, and finally cooking and eating various fruits and vegetables. Our greenhouse is a "cold greenhouse" - meaning that we maintain crops throughout the fall and into the next spring using no outside heat source. Some of our past and current crops include various greens, lettuces, beets, spinach, kale, carrots, and radishes to name a few!
