The maintenance and preservation of the HCS campus, for the safe and effective education of our students and as a resource for our community, is a priority for the HCS Board and Administration.
To this end, the Honeoye Central School District contracted with the SWBR Architecture in 2021 to support development of a Long-Range Master Plan. The resulting Long-Range Master Plan lays out long-range priorities for capital maintenance and improvements to our campus. It is important to note that this plan was developed through collection, analysis and synthesis of information obtained 1) from educator survey and focus groups, 2) collective input gathering from staff, administration and community, 3) review and incorporation of noted deficiencies in the 2015 Building Condition Survey, and 4) numerous onsite visits from SWBR architects and engineers.
In addition to the development of a Long-Range Master Plan, the district has carved out numerous opportunities for user groups comprised of multiple and varied stakeholders to make recommendations around facility shortcomings and needs. The 2023 Capital Project proposal is the result of valuable stakeholder input and is designed to provide a safe learning environment for our students, to encourage community use of our facilities and to maintain our facilities.
The project cost for this capital project is $12,440,000 and factors in use of capital reserve funds that result in a “no new tax impact” to the tax levy. Supporting financial documentation may be accessed via Estimated Impact of Proposed CIP link on this page.
