 LIBRARY FAQ

What is available in our library?
Libraries are the heart of a learning community. Our library holds over 15,500 materials – including books, videos, and magazines. We are fully automated with Destiny software (our Online Public Access Catalog). Also available are a set of twenty-four iPads and various coding technology tools.

When will my children get Library time? Every class comes once a week for a lesson and book exchange, BUT we love to see your kids ANY DAY! If they forget their books, they are welcome to come any other day (or every day, for that matter!).

How many books can they take out? Kindergarten through Second Grade takes one book at a time. Third through Fifth can take up to two, we encourage one good fit & one for fun, but leave it up to your child to decide!

What happens if my child has an overdue? Students are need to come and have a conversation about their books and work to be responsible with them each week. If it happens that they forget their book, we call it an OOPS DAY, we encourage them to come in the next day. Please communicate with us if you are concerned about a book your child has not returned at email [email protected].

What if the book is lost or damaged? Students are responsible for their borrowed books. We discuss this at the beginning of the year. If a book is lost or is damaged beyond repair, there is a responsibility and expectation to replace it if possible. Any concerns regarding books should be made aware as soon as possible via email or written form. We love books and we hope you do to, but in the end, they're just books! The most important thing to us are our readers!

ENOYEAR DATES

June 3rd: Last day to borrow books

June 10th: Last day to return ALL books

Please encourage your children to find their library books and return them by the dates above. Thank you for your help with this matter as well as your continued support of the Elementary Library!
