Honeoye Central School District Closed, 3/17/2020

Dear Honeoye Central School District Community,

As you are aware, the coronavirus situation continues to evolve and plans continue to be reevaluated. Given the recent developments in our county and orders released today by Governor Cuomo related to COVID-19 stipulating the closing of many establishments across the state beginning at 8:00pm, Honeoye Central School District has decided to cancel the half-day scheduled for March 17, 2020. School will now be closed for students Tuesday, March 17 through Monday, April 13. Between now and then, the District will continue to monitor the situation and we will share important information on our website, via email, and with ConnectEd calls.

As feasible, if you have Elementary School age children, please plan on picking up your child’s instructional materials tomorrow in the Elementary School Main Office foyer between 9:00 and 3:00.  If you have Middle School High School age children, please plan on picking up your child’s instructional materials in the District Office foyer between 9:00 and 3:00.

HCS is currently developing plans to provide meals (breakfast and lunch) to students during this extended closing.  We anticipate being prepared to distribute "grab and go" meals beginning this Wednesday. More information will be provided in a separate communication.

This is an unprecedented time and I know this news is incredibly disappointing.  I share in your disappointment. Please know that all decisions surrounding our school closing center around the health and safety of our students and the community.   Thank you for your patience, understanding, flexibility and the support you will provide us and to one another. We will get through this together with Bulldog Pride. Hoping you and yours stay well.

Warmest Regards,

Bridget Ashton
