Dear Honeoye Families,
Happy Mid-Year! That's right, we are already at the official second half of the school year.
Our PBIS trait for February is Friendship - extending kindness and tolerance in the spirit of unity (encapsulating three previous PBIS traits). We will be celebrating the hard work of students and honoring our Superheroes of the Month (along with their families) at our next PBIS Assembly on March 3rd at 9:25am in the Auditorium. One of our features is the new PBIS Student Dance Team leading the student body in "Shake It Off", sending the message of peaceful conflict resolution.
To celebrate Friendship we have many activities happening in this short month including a fun friendship photo booth activity, the Elementary play, "Munchkin Mediation", and an assembly by Cobblestone Arts Center Dayhab Without Walls with a residency workshop for grades 2 & 3, along with a shared Friendship lunch with Mrs. Covey's 1st grade students.
March and April bring NYS ELA and Math yearly assessments. These are measures that are required by NYS Education Department as a standardized method of ensuring quality education happening in public schools. We appreciate your support as you encourage your child to do their best at applying the hard work they do each day here at school.
A reminder that we have an incredible resource free to families, The Family Support Center, a solutions based, short term family counseling program, available to all HCS students. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's classroom teacher, school psychologist Dr. Heather Paler at
or myself. We are happy to connect you!
It's never too late to join our incredible Honeoye PTA! Membership is $12 annually and your support provides so much to all students from UPK through graduation. Contact President Shanna Butler via email at
Thank you for sharing your special child with us each day - your partnership is the key to success!
