Info on FREE COVID Testing Site and COVID Travel Reminder

Good Afternoon,

It is unimaginable that we have a mere two instructional days left before we break for the holidays. In many ways, it feels like we just launched the school year and here we are wrapping up 2020 heavily entrenched in a global pandemic!

Each and every day that we have been able to provide "in person" learning on campus has been an absolute source of pride for our learning community. As Governor Cuomo has attested, school "provides a regularity to life which has been missing for so many children throughout this pandemic." I cannot thank the entirety of our community - students and families, faculty and staff, and our Board of Education, for the supportive, collaborative, innovative, and heroic approaches to ensuring continuity of instruction for HCS students.

Update: Free Covid Testing in Ontario County
This morning Ontario County shared information about free COVID testing with 24 hour result turnaround time for asymptomatic individuals. Please refer to the attached Ontario County DOH News Release for more information about how to preregister for this opportunity.

Reminder: Covid-19 Travel Advisory
As you ready for the holiday and consider travel plans, please factor in quarantine guidelines for students to return to school on January 4. Per the Governor's travel guidelines, travelers who were out-of-state for more than 24 hours entering New York State may “test out” of the mandatory 14-day quarantine as follows:

• Travelers must obtain a test within three days of departure, prior to arrival in New York.
• The traveler must, upon arrival in New York, quarantine for three days.
• On day 4 of their quarantine, the traveler must obtain another COVID test. If both tests comes back negative, the traveler may exit quarantine early upon receipt of the second negative diagnostic test.
• Travelers from states that are contiguous with New York are exempt from the travel advisory; however covered travelers must continue to fill out the Traveler Health Form.

Reminder: HCS Holiday Recess Meal Request
HCS is pleased to announce that HCS Food Service will be offering free student meals for all HCS students during the December Holiday Recess. Meals will be available for pick up at the HCS Cafeteria back door (Main Street bus loop) from 10:30 - 11:30 on:

• Tuesday, December 22nd (2 days of breakfast/lunch per student for 12/23 & 12/24)
• Monday, December 28th (4 days of breakfast/lunch per student for 12/28 - 12/31)
