Winter Athletics Have Launched at the POUND!

Attending Basketball Games at The Pound
We will be following NYS Department of Health guidance for players, coaches, officials, Game Day Staff, and two (2) spectators allowed per athlete, who must be on a pre-approved list (for the JV & Varsity Home teams.) At this time, most schools in the Finger Lakes League are not allowing spectators, so please make sure that you check the rSchool Athletic Calendar before any scheduled game to determine what procedures other schools have in place.
* Practices and games are not open to the general public.

JV Boys & Varsity Girls Games
● At this time, HCS is a closed campus, and therefore, the exterior doors are locked. Game Day Staff will begin admitting spectators starting at 5:45pm until 6:05pm.
● JV Boys & Varsity Girls Spectators will park in the Auditorium Parking Lot off of Allens Hill. All spectators must wear acceptable face coverings when entering the school and remain for the duration of their stay, covering both the nose and the mouth.
● Spectators will check-in upon entering the building and Game Day Staff will complete a
temperature check and ask health screening questions. If your name is not on the list you will not be allowed to enter.
● Once in the gymnasium, Gameday Staff will direct you to designated seats, where social distancing guidelines will be strictly followed.

Transition from JV to Varsity Game
● At the conclusion of the JV game, Bulldog athletes will gather their belongings and leave with their parents. The Visiting Varsity Team will vacate the bleachers and take the court. The Visiting JV Team will gather their belongings from behind the team bench and find their designated rows in the bleacher area to watch the Varsity Game.
● Varsity spectators will be admitted in the building at the conclusion of the JV Game once clear of the players and spectators.
● Varsity spectators will remain in the parking lot until a ParentSquare Post alerts that we are ready and the same admittance process as above will be followed.

Be loud, be proud, and be positive!
We are pleased to welcome you to The Pound at Honeoye Central School. Good sportsmanship is one of the primary purposes of educational athletics. Our student-athletes recognize that judgment calls – by officials, coaches, and themselves – are made in good faith and should be respected. Spectators can support both teams that are competing by refraining from derogatory or demeaning comments and cheers. We hope that you will enjoy the game and support the students in a positive and sportsmanlike manner. Remember the Section V motto of BE LOUD, BE PROUD, BE POSITIVE!
