8/11/2022: HCS Welcomes New Additions to Bulldog Family

HCS is excited to share information about two new additions to the Honeoye Central School District family.

HCS Assistant Principal and Data Coordinator
It is my tremendous pleasure to relate that the HCS Board of Education approved the appointment of Alex Akers as our new Assistant Principal/Data Coordinator during a Regular Meeting of the Board on 8/10/2022.

Alex is joining the Honeoye CSD community from the Greece Central School District where he most recently served in the role of district-wide Behavioral Interventionist since 2019.  Additionally, this summer Alex served as Extended School Year program administrator. While employed for the Greece Central School District, Alex provided students, teachers, and teams with support related to evidence based behavioral practices, Social-Emotional Learning, instructional coaching, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. Before working in Greece, Alex taught as a special education teacher in both self-contained and integrated co-teaching settings.

Alex is a Henrietta native and currently resides with his family in Rochester. Having worked in elementary, middle, and high schools in different capacities, Alex is looking forward to joining the Honeoye CSD community in the new position of Assistant Principal and Data Coordinator. In this new role, Alex hopes "to further contribute to the successes and gains already achieved by the students, family, and staff in the district."

HCS School Resource Officer
The new school year will bring with it a change in SRO assignment. It is my pleasure to share that effective September 1, Deputy Tyler Marlow will be serving as full time School Resource Officer for the Honeoye Central School District.

Deputy Marlow is joining the district with eight years of service and excellent performance in law enforcement. He is passionate about public safety and possesses a strong knowledge of local law, regulation and security detail. In his role working for the Ontario County Sheriff's Department, Deputy Marlow has demonstrated sound and responsive judgment, effective collaboration with school districts, and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the communities he has served.  We are very eager to welcome and partner with Deputy Marlow this year!
