Schools Closed on 3/14

March 13, 2023

Good Afternoon,

As I am certain you are aware, there is a WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT for our area on Tuesday, 3/14/2023, from 4:00AM and continuing through 8:00AM on Wednesday. They are predicting heavy snow for Wayne and Ontario Counties with significant accumulations of snow totalling upwards to 13 inches (depending on report) with strong winds gusting as high as 35 mph.  The accumulation of snow and blowing winds are anticipated to reduce visibility and to create treacherous travel conditions.

Governor Hochul has declared a a State of Emergency beginning this evening and has advised no unnecessary travel in impacted regions, particularly on Tuesday when visibility will be extremely limited. As such, and in exercise of an abundance of caution for our learning community, the Honeoye Central School District will be closed on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.  Snow day closure on 3/14 is applicable to all out of district placements and all afterschool and evening athletics/activities/events.  Additionally, any/all afterschool activities scheduled beyond 8:00pm this evening, 3/13, are also cancelled.  Stay safe, be warm and enjoy time with your families.  We look forward to welcoming back all of our Bulldogs on Wednesday, 3/15... weather permitting!

Warmest regards,

E. Bridget Ashton
