Early Ballots

As of January 1, 2024, voters can request early ballots without the need to establish that they will be unable to vote on election day.
 
EARLY BALLOT TIMELINE & INSTRUCTIONS ON MAKING REQUEST
Notice of Annual or Special Meeting will include note that applications for Early Ballots may be obtained from the District Clerk, along with Absentee Ballots and Military Ballots.
  1. Voter requests Early Ballot prior to vote/election.
    1. If Voter submits application, District Clerk will send Early Ballot.
    2. If Voter submits signed letter requesting Early Ballot, District Clerk will send application and a ballot.
  2. Voter must return both the completed application and the completed ballot.
  3. District Clerk documents request, receipt of application, and all voters to whom Early Ballots have been issued.
  4. Completed ballots must be received by District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on the date of the election.
  5. List of Early Ballots issued available for public inspection during regular office hours until day of election. Qualified voter may submit written challenge of the qualifications of anyone on list to the District Clerk or election inspectors (on election day).
  6. If indivivual who submitted an Early Ballot votes in person, the Early Ballot remains unopened and is removed from the count.
  7. Ballots in unsigned envelops cannot be counted.
