The Honeoye Community’s Operation Secret Santa program is a true testament to the power of small-town connection and generosity.
Going into its 15th year, Sharon Lis and the Honeoye Central School District partner to fulfill the Christmas wishes of families in need throughout our community. Molly Perrin, School Social Worker, works with school staff to identify and nominate families in need and acquire and organize wishlists. From there, Sharon solicits donations from the community, organizes gifts as they come in, and sets up delivery for families!
This year, the program fulfilled over 130 wishes for Eight Families in need. Wishes were fulfilled through support of HCS Staff and clubs, area businesses, generous community members, and a substantial donation from the Glenn Hodgeman Memorial Fund. Beyond the gift items requested, families also received wrapping paper, clothing and shoes, Christmas Food Baskets (donated by Tekniplex,) and gift cards to area businesses.
Our school is proud to partner with our generous community to help meet the needs of everyone! Though this program is wrapped up (pun intended!) for this season, and is considered nomination-based only, please reach out to Molly Perrin at (585) 229-5171 if you are in need of support or connection to resources throughout the year!
