There's no pressure like spelling words out loud in front of spectators.

But that's exactly what Leo H. did on Thursday to win the 2026 Spelling Bee at Honeoye. Not only that, the winning word for Leo was "spectator." Ronan S. finished second and Meadow T. finished third in a field of 20 students.

Leo and Ronan, both fourth-graders, will represent Honeoye at the regional Spelling Bee on March 21 at Palmyra-Macedon. Meadow, a fifth-grader, is the alternate.
