The Parent-Teacher Association at Honeoye Central School District is partnering with Goodwill of the Finger Lakes through its Kicks for Good program. This initiative collects gently used shoes while helping local organizations raise funds—a true win-win for the community.
Goodwill has provided collection bins for the Honeoye PTA to gather gently used shoes (no flip-flops or single shoes, please). In return, the PTA will receive $0.25 per pound of shoes collected. The public is encouraged to donate as well with bins at the school located by the Elementary Office and the District Office.
Once donated, the shoes are resold, repurposed, or recycled by Goodwill. Proceeds from these efforts directly support Goodwill’s mission programs, which benefited more than 171,000 people and their families last year alone.
Collection in Honeoye began on Wednesday, April 22 (Earth Day). All funds collected by the PTA will go toward construction of the new school district playground that is being built August 11-16, 2026.
Collection bins are on site at the school through May 21.
