We all know what daily apples do to teachers, but who among the Honeoye students would want to keep Mrs. Tassone away? 

Certainly not the Honeoye 5th graders, because on Monday morning there were plenty of smiles and cheers for their teacher who was surprised by Rochester’s Channel 8 (WROC-TV) as the recipient of this week’s Golden Apple Award. Reporter Katrina Irwin visited the school and popped in during a study session that included all Honeoye 5th graders. 

Mrs. Tassone, who was leading the study session, was surprised by the brief presentation, which included a plaque commemorating the honor followed by a class photo. 

Congratulations to Mrs. Tassone for being recognized with the Golden Apple, which WROC presents to area teachers every week.
