Honeoye Central School District is proud to announce its Class of 2026 for the Graduates of Distinction.
The Graduates of Distinction Program was created to recognize Honeoye CSD graduates (10 years or more post-graduation date) who have demonstrated themselves to be exemplary citizens and who have distinguished themselves through service, exceptional career achievement or lifetime accomplishment in their post-secondary lives.
The program also inspires current and future Honeoye CSD students to pursue their goals based on the solid education foundation put in place at Honeoye. To learn more about the program, see past honorees and obtain a nomination form for possible future inductees, go to our district website at

Congratulations to the four new members of Honeoye's Graduates of Distinction Program, who were honored with a ceremony during the District's Homecoming festivities on October 1.
Sheila Matteson Pease (1980): As a teacher at Honeoye, Sheila extended knowledge for essential life skills like cooking and sewing in addition to group efforts, public speaking budgeting and leadership. She also taught at Livonia, where she created the school's first Service Club, which made trips to sing at local nursing homes, collected and delivered food to the local food pantry and was a driving force in coat drives for local refugees while also taking the lead as an outreach person for local military veterans to help them find employment. Also at Livonia, she co-founded the "Way Cool Cooking School," which invited students to gather after school where they learned to cook healthy food.
David Helling (2008): David pursued a career in education and currently works as a teacher at the Marcus Whitman Central School District. He also helps coach the cross country, indoor track and outdoor track teams at Marcus Whitman while also serving on the Richmond Town Board and the Masonic Lodge as a Master, where he helped create a financial support fund to assist Honeoye students.
Gary Hubble (1979): Following graduation from Honeoye, Gary went to work in the construction field and today is superintendent of Hamilton Stearns Construction Company. He's been an active member of Honeoye Lake Rotary Club and has been involved with numerous local projects, including but not limited to the town gazebo, information kiosks at Sandy Bottom Park and along Main Street in Honeoye and the expansion of the Town of Richmond Historical Society at the town hall. He was also very active in the community build for the new playground at Honeoye CSD. He lives in Honeoye with his wife.
